The Way of Love

The Way of Love is our intensive three-year course in personal transformation and healership. This highly personalized program of study helps students heal emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually so they can make profound changes they desire in their own lives, and support others in being able to do the same.

Grounded. Practical. Effective.

We believe that whenever you show up as your authentic, joyous, and loving self, you naturally act in healership to the world. That’s why the Way of Love works both as a graduate-level training for therapists, and as a life-changing, highly applicable program of personal healing for people from all walks of life and in any profession.

Our unique three-pillar approach offers deep, sustained healing for profound personal transformation. The experiential group setting helps students to practice and integrate their education in real time. Students learn to:

  • understand and address unfinished developmental tasks and familial patterns;

  • access and support their bodies’ wisdom; and

  • connect with their own unique spirituality as a source of power and resilience.

Practical and Professional Applications

Many students in the healing professions — psychotherapists, counselors, nurses and doctors — have used the Way of Love to “clear the mirror” of their intuition, gain new tools for working with clients, and deepen their spiritual commitment to their work. However, many others in varied careers (professors, artists, lawyers, doctors, nonprofit leaders and businesspeople) use their training within their families and workplaces to become more confident, authentic, and effective leaders, parents, and community members.

“I changed my marriage and my work. I experienced huge professional benefits from this process, receiving promotions and raises that I otherwise wouldn't have been ready to ask for or receive.”

— Amy Snyder, 66, chief financial officer

“I came to Inner Source because I was becoming consciously fed up with feelings of self-hate and needed to change it. My classmates and I experienced a big change: a shift from a desire to remove self-hate to a willingness to cultivate self-love.”

— Brett Naylor, 35, chef

“The philosophies at Inner Source help me make sense of a chaotic world that is both beautiful and challenging. It’s not always easy, it’s not always pretty, but it’s always real.  And for that I am grateful.”

— Andrea White, 39, acupuncturist

Curriculum

YEAR ONE

Freedom from Limited Thinking; Bodily Awareness

This year lays the intellectual and physical foundations for the Way of Love program. Students work with the victim-villain-savior triangle, address and unpack their unique dynamics and relationships that consistently create internal conflict, and learn to fully enjoy, celebrate, and expand upon areas of ease and strength in their lives.

Objectives:

  • Learn to identify the negative stories about yourself and others that keep you feeling small, trapped in unhealthy situations, or unable to achieve your goals.

  • Gain a foundational body awareness — the ability to receive and interpret information from your body.

  • Let yourself and the people you love off the hook; experience more fun and connection in relationships.

YEAR TWO

Freeing Up Energy; Fully Living in The Body

In this year, students go deeper learn to identify how the human body stores unhealthy patterns of thought and behavior developed in childhood, as well as how to work with the body to release these patterns.

Objectives:

  • Learn the five major energetic defense structures and how they manifest in one’s own relationships

  • Complete intensive healing exercises designed for each of the five major defense structures.

  • Experience increased energy, and greater vibrancy and pleasure in daily life.

YEAR THREE

Becoming Your Own Healer; Owning Your Authority and Personal Power

This year formally initiates you into the role of healer. You will complete approximately 60 hours in the role of healer and healee, and share your experience in the Case Presentation – a cornerstone experience of the Way of Love program.

Through completing a case presentation and supporting 1st and 2nd year students, you’ll learn to inhabit your full power and authority in relationships – from your class to your families and workplace.

Objectives:

  • Practice supporting a client throughout a long-term healing relationship, from exploring family history to where they experience ease and dis-ease in their present lives.

  • Set up a healing space and receive support in your project from a school mentor.

  • Practice full embodied presence — with yourself and with others — through the Case Presentation process.

  • Complete the Third Year Case Presentation: give and receive up to 60 hours of talk therapy and hands-on energy healing work.

  • Mentor 1st and 2nd year classes.
