About Our School

We are an experienced learning community for individual seekers and healing professionals.

For almost two decades, we have helped people to heal and grow emotionally, professionally and spiritually. Our students use our programs to achieve empowerment and fulfillment in their lives, relationships, and careers.

How could your happiness change the world?

Since our school’s founding in 2003, we’ve seen our students learn to cultivate happiness and navigate challenges with greater ease. And they don’t stop there. Over time, they make more room in their families, offices, and communities for vulnerability, honesty, and joy.

We believe this is what happens when humans access our embodied wisdom, self-love and unique spirituality: our “inner source.”

 Why Inner Source?

Relational and Experiential Learning

We believe relationships provide the most potent material for healing. Here, you have the opportunity to apply and deepen the work you’ve already been doing. Over the years, we’ve grown into a vibrant community whose members are honored to serve as loving and honest mirrors for one another.

Founded and Led by Committed Professionals

Our founders and lead teachers, Marlene Keesler and David Harman, are a trained clinical social worker and psychologist, respectively, with a combined 70 years of professional experience. Committed peer teachers have served for at least 6 years in the Way of Love program themselves, and have experienced profound growth of their own.

Accredited Offerings For Clinicians

We are authorized by the Pennsylvania Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors to offer continuing education credits for select offerings.

We celebrate all paths towards self-discovery — and we’d be honored to accompany you on your journey.

“To have actual practice with other human beings who are willing to be together through the growth process – I think that is the profound difference between Inner Source and any other modalities that I've ever had the blessing to be part of before.”

— Cindy, 55, coach and healer

Our Story

Inner Source offers a uniquely practical approach to self-transformation and healing. Our programs combine three complementary disciplines — developmental psychology, energy healing, and spiritual inquiry — in an experiential setting where students get to practice their learning in real time.

This approach is the result of decades of development by a community of therapists and trained healers with a variety of expertise. Inner Source founders Marlene Keesler and David Harman both attended the University of Chicago, where Marlene received her Master’s degree in Social Work and David his doctorate in Behavioral Sciences and licensure as a clinical psychologist. Marlene developed a particular expertise in trauma-informed care and the needs of parents and newborns while working as a psychiatric social worker within agencies and hospitals (and continues to teach social work at Montgomery County Community College today). David, who specialized in biopsychology, taught clinical psychopharmacology at area colleges while working as a psychotherapist and evaluator with children, teens and elders.

Working within traditional mental health settings, David and Marlene saw that they needed additional tools and modalities to address their clients’ needs — and their own as healing professionals. They wanted embodied ways to help their clients address unfinished developmental tasks from childhood that kept them stuck in patterns of trauma. They saw how important clients’ unique spirituality could be to helping them heal and form resilience to life’s circumstances.

This led Marlene and David to in-depth training at the Full Spectrum Center, a 30-year-old spiritual and energy healing school, and a decades-long exploration of modalities such as hypnosis, acupuncture, massage therapy, Chinese Medicine and Reiki. In 2003, they felt called to create a space to share their learning, and founded Inner Source Healing near their home in Malvern, PA.

Over the last 17 years, Inner Source has become home to a vibrant community of students, healers, and friends. Our offerings are continually evolving in response to student needs, including an adaptation of our programs to be delivered online, and to address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on students’ personal and professional lives.

Our students come from many walks of life. They’re engineers and artists, single parents and retired grandparents, practicing Catholics and firm atheists. And they’re all on intentional journeys of self-discovery.

About a third of our students serve in healing professions (therapists, doctors, hospice nurses) and use Inner Source as professional development. Many have integrated Reiki and other modalities into their practices.

Many others seek out Inner Source for personal growth. Students report their learning helps them make long-desired life changes. They’ve gone for and gotten big jobs, opened up to love, mended tough relationships, enjoyed their families with more vulnerability and humor, and learned to trust their intuition to guide them through whatever comes next. Hear it in their own words.

“Inner Source is really immersive and really personal. I feel like each person is valued and their journey is respected. You learn to understand that you matter at Inner Source.”
