Holistic Healing Workshop
OBJECTIVES

Purpose:
This workshop will integrate principles of healing energy with spirituality and clinical psychology. Participants will be shown how they can achieve a deeper level of connection in healing.

This workshop is primarily experiential. It is designed to help participants to:

  • Describe the nature of holistic healing.
  • Identify the three general states of energetic awareness: expansion, contraction, and stasis.
  • Recognize how psychological defense mechanisms are predominantly unconscious and thereby exert a powerful influence on body and mind.
  • Recognize "expanded" states of awareness -- i.e., the widening of awareness to include sensory, affective, cognitive, and more intuitive domains, as well as the "feeling" of energy.
  • Recognize how self-responsibility underlies the challenges that arise in our lives.
  • Describe how psychological defense mechanisms block the natural flow of energy, thereby fostering emotional and biological disease.
  • Identify how a greater awareness of sensations and feelings can enable one to better recognize their internal state and unconscious inclinations.
  • Recognize the difference between spontaneous feelings and habitual emotions (e.g., real vs. idealized experience).
  • Experience how healing can be fostered through a real and open connection to another person.

This workshop may be helpful for you:

  • If you would like to feel more at home with your feelings
  • If you would like to feel more present in your work and more connected to the people in your lives
  • If you would like to substantially broaden your scope of practice modalities
  • If you would like to have a fuller understanding of your countertransference issues and defenses
